Boot off the Windows 95 boot disk. Run the setup utility on the Drive Overlay program disk. Remove the disk and boot off the hard drive. Install Windows 95, and choose Compact Installation. After Windows 95 is set up and works, shut down the computer. Set the new hard drive as the master drive. Set the old hard drive as the slave drive. To Disable GUI Boot for the Selected WindowsA) Check the No GUI Boot box, and go to step 5 below. (see screenshot below step 2) 5.

  1. May 27, 2017  I want to boot it from existing boot menu, but it says 'windows is missing, need repair. Then I log into windows and used easyBCD to edit the items. I cleared out both boot entry and create them again. Now at boot the screen it black in old legacy menu, both copy windows are working fine. Now I want to restore to GUI boot menu. I tried both.
  2. Method 2: Clean boot. A clean boot starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program. You may refer the article on How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
